It broke my heart when Pepper told him, “We’ll be okay. You can rest now.” She just knew. And she knew he needed to hear that. The only thing that kept him going for a bit longer was Pepper and Morgan. Pepper, who has watched him become Iron Man and almost dying multiple times and stayed with him through it all, gave him the strength to go. Because she knew he finally fulfilled his purpose.
